Independent alternative sourcing

llentab alternatives for pre-engineered steel building quotes

KeystoneLink Sourcing is an independent sourcing partner. The desk is not llentab, does not claim authorized dealer status, and compares alternative steel buildings rather than offering the searched brand. A usable brief names the hall use, clear span, eave height, design loads, code jurisdiction, quantity and destination before any factory number is treated as comparable.

A shell package, a delivered primary frame, an installed building and a turnkey scope are four different prices. Mixing them can mean a llentab search produces quotations that cannot be ranked.

Non-interactive brief index

  1. Use and occupancy
  2. Footprint, clear span, eave height, bay spacing
  3. Dead load, live load, wind, snow, seismic
  4. Jurisdiction and adopted code edition
  5. Quantity of building sets
  6. Destination and access limit

Six checks before a factory is asked

Primary frame duty

State whether the rigid frame is a clear span or a multi-bay line, and whether a crane beam is in the buyer scope or excluded.

Secondary framing

Name purlin and girt spacing, such as 5 ft centers, cold-formed or hot-rolled secondary members, and the flange brace assumption the quote uses.

Design loads

Record design dead load, design live load, collateral load and the wind exposure category the supplier is allowed to assume.

Envelope

Separate bare sheeting from an insulated metal panel, and ask for the R-value, for example R-19, or the thermal transmittance the panel quote includes.

Foundation interface

Ask who issues anchor-bolt reactions and who designs the foundation. Those two documents are not the same deliverable.

Quote boundary

Mark freight, tax, erection, doors and mezzanines as included, excluded or optional so a low shell number is not compared with a set price.

Hall uses this desk can brief

Logistics warehouse

Aisle width, dock doors and the project-specific storage live load change the rigid frame more than the exterior color does.

Fabrication workshop

Bridge-crane class, hook height and column setbacks belong in the brief before a workshop shell is priced.

Aircraft hangar

Door clear opening and tail height govern the end wall. A generic eave height does not describe a hangar.

Equipment shelter

Collateral load from suspended units and corrosion exposure at the base angle need a written assumption.

Volumetric modular construction and panelized construction are different product families. This catalog stays with pre-engineered steel buildings and steel halls. If the project is a folding house or a flat-pack dwelling, say so, because a steel primary frame quote will not answer that brief.

Illustrative procurement scenario (not a completed project): a buyer arrives with an 80 ft clear span, a 20 ft eave height, 25 ft bay spacing, a 115 mph wind speed and a 30 psf ground snow load, and wants erection left out. Process: factories are asked to price the rigid frame plus secondary framing on those figures and to separate anchor reactions from the slab. Comparison step: a reply that omits the wind exposure category, or that folds freight into an unlabeled total, goes back for a rewrite. The file does not become an award and it does not produce a market-gap figure.

What the desk counts

These figures describe the comparison file. They are not plants visited, buyers served or a savings rate.

Six lines on the opening brief
Four scope names kept apart
Two catalog families on this desk
One comparison sheet per project

Request factory quotes on one written scope

Send the hall use, a span, a destination and the documents you need. KeystoneLink Sourcing will ask factories for alternative quotations and will not present a homepage badge as project approval.
